Heat Palma Christi in a saucepan or a double boiler (bainmarie), carefully monitoring temperature to avoid burns upon application.
Fold flannel to desired size and shape (keeping 3 or more layers), instert in box and soak in oil. Remove excess oil and apply to affected area, cover with plastic film and apply heat source. Wrap with another layer of flannel or a towel and hold in place with bandages if necessary.

Keep the castor oil pack for 1 to 1.5 hours or in some cases overnight. After removal, wash skinm with a sodium bicarbonate solution (2 tablespoons in 2 cups/500ml of water)

Note: the pack can be reused up to 5 times. Keep in a plastic container at room temperature and simply add a little oil before reapplication.
